Import/Export/Distribution company specialized in gourmet foods and beverages. Based near New York City, trading between the US, Europe and Asia.
The function covers all accounting/finance aspects of a small but fast growing food trading company, including accounting tasks (entries, inventory, invoicing, payments, reconciliation), exchange contracts, monthly financial statements, cash flow projections. It is an intense, operational task where you learn a lot.
Must be available for a one-year internship (not less), be proficient in English (spoken, written), committed, and very keen in accounting, as well as proficient at excel, be articulate, detail-oriented, disciplined. Quick learner. Good team worker and communicator. Must be able to work independently, reliable in the tasks he/she performs. Must have a passion to learn, be interested in accounting and finance. Must be hard working and willing to learn a lot and be efficient.
First a one-year internship based in New York (30-40 minutes by train from Manhattan) that will quickly train you in this field. Starting as an intern with a J1 visa for one year, with the possibility of a job with a working visa after one year. Compensation for the internship is competitive and there are some benefits. Being part of a small team in a growing venture, amd opportunity to start a career in New York with a hands on experience.
