ESPA or European Student Placement Agency is a recruitment agency whose goal is to find high quality internships for European students and recent graduates in the UK. We work closely with our host companies to ensure the positions provide the candidates with a great experience, both professional and personal.
REQUIREMENTS: ESPA vacancies are open to all EU passport holders able to travel to the UK for an educational work placement, without the need for visa documents. You need to be a registered student and/or have Erasmus+ status to be eligible for our internships.
Non-EU students can also apply if they are studying in the EU and can get the Erasmus+ grant.
Any student who is unsure of their situation should check with their university before applying.

The host company is currently looking for a candidate to join their DevOps department, developing Electronic Content Management (ECM) and Business Process Management (BPM) tools. The ideal candidate will be communicative, self-motivated and quick to learn student or recent graduate who is looking for a challenging and rewarding internship in which they can put their knowledge into practice, whilst receiving training and support from the host company.
Maidenhead is a large affluent town and stunning area in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, in Berkshire, England. It lies south of the River Thames (although at Maidenhead the river runs north-south so the town is in fact on its west bank). Maidenhead is 25.7 miles (41.4 km) west of Charing Cross in London (40 min by train to central London).
English should be B2/C1 minimum
To contribute towards the engineering and running of high quality build, deployment and release systems for the host company’s products. To deliver measurable value by providing efficient and scalable build and deploy pipelines and driving down time to release and time to value.
Resolving build related issues
Supporting the engineers who are using the tools and processes
Ensuring the smooth functioning of the build and deploy infrastructure
Following the principles of automation and infrastructure as code as part of the wider DevOps team
Learning on the job and exploring new technologies

Are you eligible?

A strong interest in full stack development and new technology
Ability to learn quickly and work with others
Logical thinker who likes a challenge
Computer Science, software Engineering or other related/relevant disciplines
Experience in the use of programming languages
Resolving build related issues
Some experience or knowledge of LINUX, for example REDHAT, CENTOS or other
Ability to pick up new technologies
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of some of the following would be useful.
Familiarity with or awareness of Maven or Ant.
Knowledge of coding languages, for instance Python, Ruby or Java, C++ etc.
Some experience of Source Code Management Systems (SCM), for example SVN and Git along with associated tools GitHub/GitLab.
Knowledge of Bash scripting & Node Package Manager (NPM)
Some experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
A basic understanding of the theory and practice of Configuration management tools such as Chef or Puppet.
BENEFITS: All ESPA’s services are free for students and alumni. The benefits are:
Paid Utility Bills (electricity, gas, water and council tax) + Internet Access
Commuter travel to work (accommodation will be found within an acceptable commuting distance from the workplace, if that requires more than a sensible walk then a bus/train ticket will be provided).
This will be sourced and managed on your behalf by ESPA. These benefits have an approximate value of 700€-1000€ per month (depending on location).
