European Student Placement Agency
6 Month Data Analyst Internship CONDA0811
ESPA (European Student Placement Agency) is a recruitment agency whose goal is to find high quality internships for European students in the UK. We work closely with our host companies to ensure the positions provide students with a great experience, both professional and personal.
The Host Company
This research agency specialises in the Insurance and Banking sectors. Over the last 12 years they have performed the art of gathering insight so that organisations can understand their consumers and benchmark themselves against their competitors. This company is a total disrupter in its market with an innovative combination of panel capabilities and price collection in-house.
Their clients include banks, big insurers, brokers, aggregators, regulators and governing bodies. Their pricing insight and data is used by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) for the Retail Price Index and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) for monitoring the insurance market.
Not to mention that they have been voted one of the UK's best companies to work for in 2015 and 2016.
The role is to work under supervision of the Foreign Exchange (FX) Programme Lead to plan and execute data analysis projects, ensure accurate technical specifications and to deliver projects to accurate timelines. This is not a programming role.
Support the FX Operations Assistant on daily collections and Quality Control (QC) of the data.
Review the way we QC/display/calculate the data and make recommendations to the FX Programme Lead for better ways this could be done.
Work with the FX Programme Lead on bespoke client projects.
Deal with client support by email, phone and in person.
More general tasks as may be required by the company from time to time.
Strong analytical skills.
Some experience of SQL, Python, Data Analytics and Visualisation tools would be useful.
Knowledge of Finance, particularly Foreign Exchange Regulation, Technology, and programming is beneficial but not required.
BENEFITS: All ESPA’s services are free for students and alumni. The benefits are:
Paid Utility Bills (electricity, gas, water and council tax) + Internet Access
Commuter travel to work (accommodation will be found within an acceptable commuting distance from the workplace, if that requires more than a sensible walk then a bus/train ticket will be provided).
This will be sourced and managed on your behalf by ESPA. These benefits have an approximate value of 700€-1000€ per month (depending on location).
There is no salary over and above the benefits offered, unless specifically stated.
