Training Academy Intern
EVPA is a membership association established in 2004 and made up of organisations interested in/or actively practising venture philanthropy (VP) and social investment (SI) across Europe.
EVPA envisions a world where philanthropy and investment combine to drive societal impact. EVPA’s mission is to enable Venture Philanthropists and Social Investors to maximise societal impact through increased resources, collaboration and expertise.
Currently the association has over 210 members from 29 countries, mainly based in Europe, but also outside Europe, such as United States, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and Asia, showing the sector is rapidly evolving across borders.
The internship is under the EVPA Training Academy which is part of the Knowledge Centre (KC) department of EVPA, the hub for knowledge and thought leadership on venture philanthropy and social investment, in Europe and beyond.
EVPA Training Academy offers a unique range of venture philanthropy and social investment learning opportunities all over Europe, both online and offline, designed to help practitioners at each stage of their learning journey.
The Training Academy Intern Position
The intern will contribute to the organisation and promotion of the training and learning activities of EVPA, reporting directly to the Training Manager and to the Training Officer on the various tasks, supporting the work of the Knowledge Centre (KC) when needed under the supervision of the Knowledge Centre Director.
Concrete activities will include:
Support on training activities
Support the team in the setting-up of learning events and the preparation of workshops, e.g. managing webpages, preparing the delegates’ list, liaising with the speakers, following-up registrations, managing communications with the participants, booking travel and accommodation, organising catering, etc.
Support the team in managing the relations with the logistic partners, sponsors, etc.
Support the team in the event management, e.g. ensuring the course venue is set up, taking care of registering the participants, setting-up the catering and the coffee breaks, preparing the training materials, etc.
Marketing of training activities
Support the Training Manager in building a marketing strategy to promote the events of the Training Academy with the final aim of enlarging the audience for the trainings, e.g. developing new partnerships to disseminate the Training Academy’s learning offer, building a database of training-related contacts, etc.
Conduct further analysis of the data collected through the EVPA Training Academy evaluations to gather new marketing insights.
Updating the website section of the Training Academy and the internal CRM tool (Salesforce), providing monthly statistics to the Knowledge Centre Director.
Support for admin and EU reporting obligations the Knowledge Centre team members;
Assisting the Knowledge Centre Director and the Training Manager with any other tasks that are performed in the KC department or in EVPA general.
University degree related to event management – applicants who have not yet completed their studies will also be considered. Candidates with a previous working experience in event management will also be considered.
Interest in developing knowledge on events planning, managing the registration and the speakers invitation process and organising facilities and details such as catering, entertainment, transportation, location, attendees list, speakers list, equipment, promotional material, etc.
Ability to work in a structured and accurate manner and capability to accurately handle administrative duties.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people, willingness to work with different kind of partners from different countries and understand their needs.
Written and spoken fluency in English and preferably one other European language.
Ability to manage and prioritise a number of competing tasks and responsibilities.
Good level of IT literacy and interest in learning more on CRM (e.g. Salesforce) is a plus.
Strong interest in the fields of philanthropy, social enterprise and social entrepreneurship and/or social impact measurement and strong motivation and interest in moving the sector forward is a plus.
Full-time paid internship position based in Brussels, Belgium
Starting as from November, 2018 duration 6 months with the possibility to extend it another 6 months
