Company description

Space Applications Services is a company based in the Brussels area (BE) that provides products and services for the space sector in many areas from Avionics, Robotics, Human Exploration, Science and Earth Observation.

 

The successful student will be based in our main office at Sint-Stevens-Woluwe (Brussels Area) and support the activities of the System Administration Team (Systems Department).

 

The Team is responsible for performing hardware and software infrastructure support in a proactive way.

The student will mainly report to the System Administration Team Lead.

Job description

Tasks and Responsibilities

The candidate will support the IT Administration Team with the:

  • Developing end-user apps for the internal self-service web portal
  • Assisting with Users Help Desk, System and Network Administration tasks
  • Scripting automation tools.

Searched Profile

Main Relevant Qualifications and Experience

  • Enrolment in second/third year of Computer Sciences studies or higher
  • Knowledge of or experience with:
    • Linux, Nginx/Apache, MySQL
    • Python, bash-scripting, Django, Bootstrap, JavaScript, HTML/CSS

 

The successful student will have the following skills

  • Strength to cope with schedules and deadlines
  • Ability to:
    • Adhere to strict standards of confidentiality
    • Synthesise, summarise and draw conclusions
    • Work in distributed international teams
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
