POPPOSITIONS was established by Liv Vaisberg and Pieter Vermeulen in 2012 as a counterpoint to mainstream art fairs, and has grown as the leading fair offering an alternative market for contemporary art.
 
In the past seven years, POPPOSITIONS has been dealing with questions of artistic agency, self-organisation, cynicism and criticality in order to shape its profile within the cultural and economic landscape.

Job description

Qualifications require and role:

  • Your role will be to welcome the visitors, give help to them and make sure they enjoy their visit. You will be inside the fair and participate actively to the event. You will also have a strong role in the preparation of the various meetings and artistic activities of the fair.
  • Speaking dutch and/or french is a plus.

We need during this 8th editions volunteers for:

  • Museography and fair building (08/04 to 14/04)

We need Volunteers to help our scenographer, build walls, moduls, etc... everything with the museography set-up (2 weeks before the fair)

  • Reception and mediation 

Your role will be to welcome our audience and give them any help or information. For those who will intervene as mediators, we will provide you a guideline for mediation.

  • Bartenders and waiters

You will make sure to provide our visitors some drinks.

  • Fair set-up with participants and artists (22/04 and 23/04)

To organize the fair, we will need volunteers to assist the assembly of exhibition rooms.

  • Exhibition Opening (24/04)

We will need assistance to welcome all participants, guests and visitors during vernissage: set-up the event during all day, coat-chek, waiter, …
