7 Project Manager Engineering

Etex Engineering, the engineering department of Etex, is, within the context of new investments and improvement projects in our plants worldwide, currently looking for additional support within the area of project management.

Mission and Purpose :

  • The Project Manager takes under his/her responsibility the management of industrial projects from their opportunity study to the commissioning and the start up of the project.
  • He/she will assess and study the different technical scenarios to define the most appropriate solutions to meet the customers expectations in terms of budget and time schedules.
  • He/she issues the specifications according to customer requirements, analyses the supplier offers, participates in the supplier selection, contract setting with the management and the purchasing department.
  • He/she is the interface between the client (plant teams), the suppliers and the steering committee and as such is leading and organising the meetings.
  • He/she is the driving force of the project realisation and is involved together with the supplieres and the plant team in the detailed engineering phases, safety design, factory acceptance tests, commissioning, final acceptance tests.
  • The project manager guarantees the equipment conformity according to the regulations and Etex EHS standards and specifications, with respect for time schedules and budget.
  • The project manager will also coordinate the support provided by internal experts of different technologies and the purchasing teams provided by the Sourcing Manager.   
  • He/she will also be responsible for the CAPEX savings on LCC (Life Cycle Costs) and savings in time.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Build project specifications and project organisation.
  • Analyse offers, involvement in the final selection with purchasing and involvement in the contractual preparations.
  • Follow-up on the project realisation: organise periodical follow-up meetings with suppliers, plant teams, organise site visits to check the project progress according to specifications.
  • Monitor tests and start up of equipment to make sure that the project outcome corresponds ot the initial requirements.
  • Other tasks : Steering Committee preparations, follow up on budget and time lines, administrative tasks, training, providing technical assistance and setting up transversal working teams.  

Profil recherché

Job Requirements and qualifications

  • The ideal candidate has a minimum experience within the engineering field of 3 years or a strong operational experience.
  • Project management skills are a must as this person will be the leader of the technical projects. Focus has to be on the project time line, budget compliancy, customer satisfaction and outstanding communication skills between the different departments involved in the projects.
  • Very good technical and operational background is needed as well as the ability to work in a team. 
  • Good communication skills are a prerequisite as well as a high level of empathy, active listening and having an open mind.
  • Expertise and knowhow in plasterboard, fibercement or fire protection technology is highly appreciated.

Language Skills

  • Very good English.
  • Dutch and or any other languages are an additional asset.
