Description de la fonction

TME R&D centre is responsible for planning, development and production support of vehicles aimed at - and locally produced for - the European market.
The Vehicle Comfort team is part of the Vehicle Performance Engineering division (VPE) division and is responsible for the vehicle NVH (Noise, Vibration and harshness) according EU customer expectations.  We aim at the development of attractive and „fun to drive“ cars matching European market requirements and customer expectations. Using state-of-the art experimental and numerical methods, we develop strategies to achieve the targets, and validate them on virtual and physical prototypes. 

Your project:
Gear noise and motor noises in electric vehicles (EV) are typically high-frequency, and are easy to cause annoyance. In order to control this annoying noise for the vehicle occupants, all the different transfer paths between the gearbox (or EV motor) and the interior cavity need to be controlled carefully.
You will contribute to an ongoing research project where the main goal is to set suitable targets and assess the performance for the different components involved in the transmission of gear noise from its source to the vehicle interior. You will:
• Continue the ongoing study to relate on-vehicle and on-bench component evaluation through the use of substructuring theory.
• Work out a suitable procedure for component performance assessment, based on the results of this ongoing research.
• Investigate the opportunities for usage of CAE models to improve efficiency and / or accuracy of this procedure
• Validate the new developments through component and full-vehicle evaluation.

Profil recherché

You are pursuing your master in mechanical or acoustical engineering, and have a strong affinity with mathematical and physical modelling. You are interested in cars and sound/acoustics. You feel confident with mathematical scripting in Matlab; knowledge of Noise & vibration testing (Test.Lab) and simulation (Nastran, Comsol) is a plus. You have a good English capability and you are eager to work in a multi-cultural environment.
