The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) promotes Brazilian products and services abroad and attracts foreign investments to strategic sectors of the Brazilian economy.

Apex-Brasil currently supports about 12,000 companies from 70 sectors of the Brazilian economy, which export to more than 200 markets. In partnership with sector associations, the Agency organizes trade promotion initiatives, such as prospective and trade missions, business rounds, support to the participation of Brazilian companies in major international fairs and customized tours to foreign buyers and opinion-makers introducing them to the Brazilian productive structure. Apex-Brasil also releases business and competitive intelligence studies that play a critical role in the decision of Brazilian companies to enter the international market.

Apex-Brasil coordinates the actions related to foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction into Brazil, seeking to allocate resources in sectors of strategic relevance for the development of the competitiveness of Brazilian companies and of the country itself.

Besides its headquarters in Brasilia, Apex-Brasil has Desks in Brazilian states and External Offices around the world serving as platforms: to assist Brazilian companies, to expand their businesses to global markets, to explore new business opportunities, to increase Brazil’s market share in key global markets, and to serve as a benchmark for foreign investment attraction.

These external offices are strategically located in Asia (Beijing - China), Middle East (Dubai - United Arab Emirates), North America (Miami and San Francisco- USA), Central America and the Caribbean (Havana - Cuba), South America (Bogota – Colombia) Europe (Brussels - Belgium), Eastern Europe (Moscow - Russia) and Africa (Luanda - Angola).

In Brussels our office has two main departments, one - focusing on the promotion of trade and investment activities and the other, on policy monitoring.

Description de la fonction

The Trade Promotion team works closely with Brazilian companies, offering them three types of services: market intelligence, trade promotion and support in settling the company in the main European markets such as Germany, France and United Kingdom.

The student intern will take part to activities related to the promotion of Brazilian exports and marketing Brazilian products in Europe. He/She will have the opportunity to learn about the internationalization process of Brazilian companies in Europe and about the main market segments in several European regions and what opportunities these regions can offer to Brazilian companies.

The student intern will work under the supervision of our COO and the Market Analyst developing tasks as described below:

help in the preparation of market and industry reports, through research, compiling statistic and database, based on the demands of companies interested in internationalizing their products and services;
assist the COO and the Market Analyst in meeting the demands from different units of our Headquarters (as Projects Unit, Investment Unit, Sustainability Unit, among others) through the search for information and contacts (Portuguese and English compulsory, other European languages are a plus);
support the COO and the Market Analyst in meeting the demands of European companies looking for products, services and investment opportunities in Brazil;
feed the database of contacts and potential partners for future projects (good knowledge of excel, word and power point is required);
Support the team in organizing promotional events.

Profile:

Bachelors or Master’s Degree level focused on International Business/Trade
Proficient in English, Intermediary in Portuguese; any other EU languages an asset
Good analytical skills; ability to convey complex issues in simple terms
Dynamic team-player with keen interest in EU – Brazil Business relations

Conditions:

Unpaid internship ( Apex-Brasil does not provide any financial assistance to the intern)
From 3 to 6 months (To be agreed between the intern and Apex-Brasil)
