Belgium's startup ecosystem gathered once again at the Startup Awards 2026, an annual event celebrating the entrepreneurs, companies, and initiatives shaping the future of innovation in the country.
The event brought together founders, investors, ecosystem partners, and public stakeholders to discuss growth, entrepreneurship, and the challenges facing startups today. One theme emerged throughout the day: startups continue to play an important role in creating jobs, driving innovation, and attracting talent across Belgium.
A Growing Ecosystem Creating New Opportunities
Student was proud to be part of the event through its partnership with the Belgium Startup Ecosystem. During the day, Florence Loumaye, the co-founder of Student, joined a panel discussion on community building and growth. The conversation highlighted the importance of trust, engagement, and long-term relationships when building strong communities. These same principles have helped Student connect more than 600,000 students and young graduates with employers across Belgium.
The event was also an opportunity to reflect on the progress of Belgium's startup ecosystem. From early-stage ventures to fast-growing scale-ups, companies across the country continue to innovate, expand, and create new opportunities.
Startup Awards 2026: Celebrating Belgium's Most Promising Companies
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the Startup Awards ceremony, which showcased some of Belgium's most promising startups and entrepreneurs.
This year's edition demonstrated the scale and momentum of the ecosystem, with more than 100 startups applying to participate. Following a rigorous selection process, 50 finalists were selected and evaluated by a jury of 50 experts from across the Belgian startup community.
One of the most anticipated moments of the evening was the live pitch final, where startups competed for a €100,000 prize. After an impressive series of presentations, the grand prize was awarded to Noah, an AI-powered virtual consultant helping businesses access expert guidance more efficiently. Several other startups were also recognised for their achievements, including Tout Bien Pils and Maurice & Nora, highlighting the strength and diversity of Belgium's entrepreneurial landscape.
Beyond the winners, the Startup Awards showcased companies active in artificial intelligence, technology, consumer products, sustainability, and many other sectors, demonstrating the breadth of innovation being developed in Belgium today.

A Partnership to Connect Startups and Young Talent
One year ago, Student and the Belgium Startup Ecosystem announced a partnership with a shared objective: helping startups connect more easily with students and young graduates looking for internships, student jobs, and first professional experiences.
Since then, we have continued building bridges between startups and young talent through dedicated visibility on Student, startup-focused initiatives, and our Startup Roadshow, which visited six Belgian innovation hubs at the end of 2025.
Together, we share the belief that stronger connections between startups and young talent benefit both sides. Startups gain access to motivated candidates, while students and graduates discover innovative companies where they can learn, grow, and contribute.
