Hello! I'm Babs, 22 years old and currently in my final year of my bachelorโs degree in Business & Languages. Let me take you through my internship at Elia on the Employer Branding team.
My days are always different; sometimes I'm working on events and doing creative work, and other days are filled with administrative tasks. This variety keeps my work challenging and engaging. At the office, I'm often busy because I have time to do practical tasks such as making goodiebags. At home, I work more efficiently because I have fewer distractions.
During my internship, I've worked on two events: The Selection Days and The Technical Discovery Day, where I was responsible for the creative work. Additionally, I've contributed to internal campaigns where my creative writing was used. I also handle administrative tasks, such as maintaining Excel files, sending emails, and organizing documents.
On Fridays, I usually help with the Open School Days. On these days, schools can visit our site in Schaarbeek. I welcome the visitors and guide them to the right location. I have also represented Elia at an event.
"What will stay with me the most from this entire period is the feeling that I truly contributed to the company. By using my skills, such as creating pivot tables, I ensured that the planning went smoothly during the Selection Days. Thanks to the many compliments from my colleagues, I can look back proudly on my contribution at Elia. I will definitely carry that self-confidence into the future."
This experience has taught me a lot about myself. I've grown as an employee and now know for sure that I'm ready for a fulltime job. I'm incredibly grateful for this opportunity and recommend everyone to pursue an internship at Elia. You'll get amazing colleagues, plenty of growth opportunities, and have a fantastic time."
