When you're looking for an internship, it often feels like a never-ending struggle before you finally land the right opportunity — but sometimes, all it takes is a bit of luck, a good platform, and the perfect listing. That’s exactly what happened to me with Student. Between a well-designed platform, a great vibe, and real, hands-on tasks, here’s how I found my internship, what I learned, and why I totally recommend the experience!
Thibault’s Interview:
1. How did you discover Student and what convinced you to use it to find your internship?
“I already knew it well from the student jobs I’ve done. But what really convinced me was that I wanted something broader than what my school’s website had to offer.”
2. Did you find your internship quickly, or was it a struggle before you found the one?
“To be honest, I feel pretty lucky haha, because it was my first internship application and bam — I found one right away! Meanwhile, lots of people around me really struggled.”
3. Did you apply everywhere or was it love at first sight with the listing on Student?
“Nope! I didn’t apply anywhere else, but I did spend a lot of time thinking about what I really wanted. So yeah, it was love at first sight because that internship fit exactly with all the thoughts I’ve had!”
4. What do you actually do during your internship? Can you describe a typical day?
“Honestly, it goes from welcoming my team of student workers to following up on their daily work, making sure everything runs smoothly. I also organize various campaigns and ensure client follow-up.”
– Okay, maybe the day doesn’t sound super packed, but trust me, it was enough for Thibault to complain a fair bit at the office…
5. Did you learn things you’d never seen at uni or school?
“Absolutely! Team and project management, handling relationships with all stakeholders (whether it’s the student workers, clients, or colleagues). What you learn in class is often super theoretical. Here, we think outside the box — it gave me a much clearer picture of what the ‘real’ working world is like.”
6. Are you working on any cool projects right now? Tell us what’s motivating you the most.
“It’s kind of over now, but I really enjoyed contributing to the implementation of a tool to help manage student workers. I had to rethink the whole organizational structure of student campaigns, and that was pretty fun to work on.”

7. How would you describe the vibe at Student? More chill, studious, or totally fun?
“A bit of all three — chill, professional, and fun — because I quickly realized that at Student, there’s a time for everything. Time to laugh and party, and time to get serious work done.”
8. Any funny or unexpected moments you’ve had with the team?
“During a campaign for a client, I had a student who claimed to be in Hasselt, but the funny part is that two weeks later, we got a traffic fine for something that happened in Brussels — at the exact time he was supposed to be working.”
9. If you had one piece of advice for a student struggling to find an internship, what would it be?
“To go on Student, haha! But seriously — don’t take rejection personally, and don’t give up. Sure, I was lucky to land the first internship I applied for, but I know it’s not like that for everyone.”
10. Now that you’re “on the other side,” do you recommend Student to your friends? Why?
“Honestly, yes. I’d recommend it to my friends because compared to other sites, Student has a wide range of offers. And what’s great is that it’s focused on entry-level jobs. Since it’s geared toward juniors, we don’t waste time wondering if we have ‘enough experience’ to apply.”
– Can’t blame him — we see you, recruiters asking for fresh grads with 100 years of experience...
✅ Conclusion
In short, my internship with Student was a great match at the right time. I learned a ton, experienced some unexpected situations, and most importantly, worked in an environment where professionalism and fun go hand in hand. If I had to give one piece of advice to a friend looking for an internship? Go on Student. It’s simple, efficient, and most of all, made for us students. 👊
