Orange is all about empowering women in the tech industry

Recruiting women for technical positions can be a challenge, but we're taking steps to address this by implementing support initiatives. Our goal is not only to increase the recruitment and retention of women in technical roles but also to raise awareness among young girls and students about these opportunities. That's why we recently hosted a "One Day Internship" for the WomInTech community. During this event, we had the pleasure of showing 16 female students the countless possibilities that tech careers offer and the perfect jobs that match their tech-savvy minds.

After satisfying hungry stomachs with a delicious breakfast, we nourished hungry minds at our Cyber Experience Center. This is where Orange Cyberdefense helps companies understand the impact of clicking on suspicious links. Spoiler alert: it's a big deal! Our participants were genuinely shocked. "I knew about phishing, but I never realized its magnitude or how damaging it can be to companies," shared one of the students.

Given Orange's passion for innovation, we couldn't resist visiting the Orange 5G Lab in Antwerp. This lab provides start-ups, mid-size, and large companies with a platform to discover, test, and develop groundbreaking applications for standalone 5G in real-life conditions. Picture robotic arms, self-driving rail vehicles, and augmented field workers—the possibilities are limitless in our innovative 5G Lab.

Our next stop was the network control center and the laboratory where we develop our TV and Internet products and services. To wrap up the day, we had an informal chat with our female engineers. Who better to explain the ins and outs of our technical roles than the colleagues who enjoy them every day?
