Climate Strategy Consultant / Business Development Trainee for a Sustainable Development Consulting Company

We are seeking a motivated and committed intern to join our team and contribute to both our sustainability projects and business development efforts. You will play a key role in supporting corporate climate strategies while helping us grow our client portfolio.

Responsibilities:

ESG / Sustainability (≈70%)

• Participate in the calculation of corporate carbon footprints (Scopes 1, 2, and 3)

• Contribute to the preparation of reports aligned with CSRD and other regulatory frameworks

• Support the development of emission reduction plans (e.g. Science-Based Targets)

• Conduct research on best practices in sustainability and climate innovation

• Prepare presentations and materials to support training and awareness initiatives

• Co-facilitate Climate Fresks and other workshops

Business Development (≈30%)

• Identify and prospect potential clients across various sectors (LinkedIn, events, outreach, etc.)

• Contribute to the development and execution of business development strategies

• Support the preparation of tailored sales materials and presentations

• Manage CRM updates and track sales opportunities

• Represent AJ Act Justly at events, webinars, or networking opportunities

Compensation:

• Transportation expense reimbursement .

Practical Details:

• Start date: Flexible, depending on availability.

• Duration: Flexible, with the possibility of adjustments.

• Location: Mondays at the office and Remote work possible.

• Currently pursuing studies in engineering, environmental science, economics, business, or a related field.

• Basic knowledge of carbon footprint calculation (GHG Protocol) is a plus.

• Strong interest in sustainability, ESG issues, and regulations such as the CSRD.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

• Detail-oriented, autonomous, and intellectually curious.

• Proficiency in office tools (Excel, PowerPoint) and collaborative platforms.

• Professional proficiency in French and English; Dutch is a plus.

• Hands-on experience in a growing sector.
