About the internship

At Beaulieu, innovation starts with understanding markets, technologies, IP, and customer needs, then translating these insights into concrete opportunities. This internship focuses on helping set up, test, and improve AI-supported workflows that strengthen how we collect information, structure knowledge, and generate insights for innovation projects. The aim is not to develop new AI models from scratch, but to build useful internal workflows on top of existing tools and technologies, and help make them robust enough to keep running in practice.

What you will work on

As an intern, you will help develop and validate AI-supported workflows for activities such as:

• Collecting and structuring information from patents, market sources, and internal documents, including scraping and organizing external data sources (e.g. trade fair exhibitor lists) into searchable, AI-ready formats
• Summarizing large volumes of technical and market information into usable outputs
• Helping build knowledge bases and reusable research workflows
• Supporting idea generation and opportunity screening with AI
• Testing how AI can improve consistency, speed, and quality in innovation-related work

This internship sits at the intersection of innovation, business, and technology. It is especially relevant for students interested in applying AI in a real industrial innovation context.

What success looks like

By the end of the internship, you will have contributed to one or more practical AI workflows that help the innovation team work more efficiently. Examples of outcomes could include:

• A workflow to support patent or market intelligence
• A reusable setup for summarizing and comparing technical information
• An AI-supported opportunity screening approach
• A prototype internal tool or process that can continue to be used after the internship

We are looking for a student who combines analytical strength with curiosity for technology and innovation. A strong fit could be a Business Engineering student with interest in coding and digital tools, or a Computer Science / Applied Computer Science student interested in business applications and innovation, not only in pure software development.

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Business Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
• Interested in how AI can improve knowledge work and decision-making, and comfortable turning complex information into something practical and usable
• Able and willing to work with AI coding tools (Codex, Claude Code, or similar) to help build and maintain workflows. Experience with Python, APIs, or data handling is a plus, but deep software engineering is not required
• Curious, hands-on, and comfortable in an exploratory environment where not everything is predefined
• Clear communicator in English. Dutch is a plus
