Alright, there have been more changes regarding the "Paysage" decree, so here’s a full recap for you!
For now, the decree is in a transition phase. Basically, this means that we are expected to return to the initial provisions for the 2025-2026 academic year.
If you pass and validate the 60 credits of the first block
You’ve successfully completed Block 1, meaning you’ve earned all 60 credits of the first annual block within a maximum of two years. You now have permission to move on to Block 2. Once Block 1 is validated, you can put together your Annual Student Program (PAE) by including courses from Block 2, while of course respecting the prerequisites and corequisites established by your institution.
But if you fail…
First of all, know that it’s completely normal to fail. It happens to EVERYONE (trust me).
But if you do fail, there are three possible scenarios:
- First case: You’ve earned less than 45 credits in Block 1. In this case, you must switch to another program, which will give you an extra year to complete the 60 credits of Block 1. This means you’ll have a maximum of five years to obtain a bachelor’s degree.
- Second case: If, during your Block 1, you have acquired between 45 and 59 credits, you can, with the approval of the academic board, anticipate some courses from Block 2 when re-enrolling in Block 1. (Got it?) Basically, your PAE cannot exceed 60 credits, and you must prioritize enrolling in any remaining unvalidated Block 1 courses.
- Last scenario! (Finally) If, after two years, you still haven’t validated all 60 credits of Block 1, you must switch to another program. This means you’ll be enrolling in a new curriculum, with one year to validate the 60 credits of the new Block 1 in order to maintain your funding eligibility.
Implementation of the new decree in the 2025-2026 academic year
For the 2024-2025 academic year, transitional measures have been put in place. Students who were eligible for funding in 2023-2024 for the 2024-2025 year will remain eligible, even if they have not validated all their credits.
However, starting in 2025-2026, all students will have to comply with the reinstated version of the Paysage Glatigny decree.
