As a recent graduate, landing your first job isn’t always easy. Sure, you’ve gathered plenty of knowledge, but you might not have had many chances to put that knowledge into practice just yet. And that’s exactly the kind of experience many companies expect from their employees. Luckily, a lot of companies are aware of this and offer traineeships to bridge the gap.
Traineeships are work and learn programs where companies give young, ambitious starters the opportunity to gain their first real work experience, while also figuring out which direction they want to grow in. Over the course of a few years, you’ll work in different jobs and departments, sometimes even in various roles within the same department.
So, why would you qualify? If you’ve recently earned a bachelor’s or master’s degree, you’re already eligible, and in a wide range of fields. Think IT, business management, engineering, marketing, production, HR and sales.
What makes a traineeship different from most internships? For starters, you do it after graduating, and you’re actually hired as a full-time employee, meaning you get a proper salary. Most internships, on the other hand, are unpaid.
