Have you ever wondered what it's like to be an OMP Senior Supply Chain Consultant? In this story, you'll explore the role and its responsibilities.
From junior to senior consultant âď¸
I began my career at OMP as a junior consultant and recently grew into the role of senior consultant. The main difference is the increased responsibility and ownership I now have. As a Senior Supply Chain Consultant, I guide a team of consultants, share my expertise, and take ownership of more complex tasks and projects. This role challenges me to grow professionally while allowing me to contribute significantly to our customers' success.
Iâm empowered to take on a leadership role, which is very rewarding for me. I enjoy being a team player more than ever. In fact, the team is everything to me. Unlike other consultancy companies, at OMP, we work in in-house project teams, ensuring we stay connected with our company, colleagues, and identity, even while working on customer projects. We always work as a collaborative team to create value for the customer.
In my role, adding value means finding the right solution for a customerâs supply chain planning challenges. This involves organizing and fine-tuning our standard solution to meet the customerâs needs. If youâre familiar with larger digital transformation projects, youâll know they happen in a phased way, involving processes such as functional and technical analysis, data gathering and preparation, testing, reviewing, implementation, user training, support, and so on.
Streamlined processes and methodology đĄ
A unique aspect of OMP is that nothing is left to chance. We have standardized ways of working that allow us to move forward confidently. For our implementation projects, we use different tools to structure our work and communicate internally with colleagues as well as externally with customer project managers, business specialists, and key users. During the analysis phase, we organize workshops with the customer, our team, and our solution architect to fully understand their challenges.
We design our solution in detail, and create all the user stories, as part of our high-level sprint planning. During implementation, we hold regular scrum meetings with the customer and work in an agile manner to fine-tune the planning. After implementation, we enter an extensive testing phase, focusing on fixing bugs and optimizing the solution.
Project duration varies by industry and can take up to two years before going live. This might sound like a long time but, due to the different project phases and working methods, no two days are the same. I enjoy longer projects because they give me the opportunity to delve deeper into customer challenges and provide suitable solutions, making the work fascinating and engaging.
Teamwork: the pillar of success đŞ
I'm grateful to be part of a company that prioritizes a collaborative spirit. This is why I chose OMP in the first place. We support and celebrate each otherâs personal and professional successes in a positive and encouraging way. As the company grows steadily and controlled, there are ample opportunities for everyone. đ¤Š
In this growing company, we continually seek improvements and new ideas to enhance our tools and methods. Weâre on the lookout for senior consultants who can bring fresh perspectives directly to the table. Colleagues who join us as seniors, with their expertise and experience, are a valuable asset to our team. Everyone who aligns with our work and company culture will grow and thrive here in their own way with the continuous support of colleagues and team managers.
