Explore the world of colour and forms
Formica Group Europe, manufacturer of interior surfacing solutions and the original inventor of Formica® laminate, invites university students in Belgium to enter its pan-European design competition.
The idea is to explore the world of colour and forms and to re-invent the notion of light through the use of Formica® laminate. The challenge for the students will be to look differently at the interpretation of lighting hardware, fixtures and applications for interior use, while using some of the 600 decorative laminate solutions offered in the Formica® Collection.
The students’ concepts will be examined renowned American designer, art director and Pentagram partner, Abbott Miller, Swedish architect, designer and founder of Claesson Koivisto Rune (CKR), Eero Koivisto, Formica Corporation Group VP of Design & Innovation, Renee Hytry Derrington, and Formica Group Design Manager for Europe, Eva Hoernisch.
The winner will go home with a brand new Apple® iMac® and 1,000€ and runners-up with 700€ and 450€.
