Sales Onboarding at Uber is where the journey begins for our earners and merchants and where commercial value is first unlocked. As an intern on the Delivery Onboarding team, you don’t just enable access to the platform; you directly influence merchant activation speed, courier supply health, and downstream revenue generation.
In our Delivery business, you are helping architect a three-sided marketplace, where every onboarding decision impacts conversion rates, order volume, and local market performance. You are the gatekeeper of quality and a driver of growth ensuring that merchants and couriers move from interest to income as efficiently and safely as possible.
The pace is intense, the volume is high, and the stakes are real. From neighbourhood restaurants to grocery chains, your work powers local commerce at global scale. You’ll thrive here if you have an owner’s mindset, commercial curiosity, and a bias toward action. This isn’t a role where you follow a static playbook, it’s where you help optimize the funnel, reduce friction, and accelerate time-to-first-order without compromising trust or compliance.
What You’ll Do
- Drive merchants and delivery partners from sign-up to first order, actively unblocking friction points that impact conversion, activation speed, and marketplace supply.
- Own the integrity of Uber’s platform by reviewing and validating identity and business documentation, balancing risk mitigation with commercial efficiency.
- Communicate with clarity and empathy across multiple channels to resolve merchant and courier issues, helping partners move faster through onboarding and minimizing drop-offs that affect local GMV.
- Analyze onboarding funnel metrics on a weekly basis (e.g., drop-offs, processing time, activation rates) across food delivery and new verticals like groceries, and recommend data-driven improvements to increase throughput and revenue readiness.
- Partner closely with Sales, Operations, and Support teams to enable faster merchant launches, resolve technical blockers, and support hyper-local go-to-market priorities.
- Identify, document, and escalate system or policy issues that impact the “ground truth” across 11,000+ cities, protecting marketplace reliability, scalability, and growth.
- Adapt quickly to evolving commercial priorities, policy changes, and volume spikes, consistently balancing speed, accuracy, and business impact.
