Partnerships Intern

Brussels | up to 6 months | Partnerships Department | Hybrid working: up to 2 days/week remote

About the role

EDFI Management Company (EDFI MC) is looking for a motivated intern to join its Partnerships Department. You will support both the EU Mandates and Syndication & Guarantees teams, gaining exposure to European development finance, EU-funded programmes, institutional partnerships, and stakeholder engagement. The department works closely with the European Commission and the European DFI network to develop and manage financial instruments that support private sector investment in emerging markets.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct research on EU policies and development finance.
  • Support the preparation of presentations, briefing notes, reports, and meeting materials.
  • Assist with the monitoring and reporting of partnership programmes and mandates.
  • Maintain databases, trackers, and document repositories.
  • Contribute to stakeholder engagement activities with DFIs, EU institutions, and other partners.
  • Support ad hoc projects across the Partnerships Department.

Who are we looking for?

Your profile

  • Currently pursuing a Master degree in Economics, Finance, International Relations, European Studies, Business, Law, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong command of English; French is an asset.
  • Interest in development finance, EU institutions, and international partnerships.
