Students from universities and engineering schools can apply for an internship or thesis project at imec. Imec offers topics in engineering, science and industrial sciences, for a broad range of activities. The programme aims at students with a technical or scientific background, but students with other qualifications can also apply.

Internships in the Nano IC framework
The NanoIC pilot line is a result of European collaboration. It’s hosted by imec (Belgium), and its partners include CEA-Leti (France), Fraunhofer (Germany), VTT (Finland), CSSNT (Romania), and Tyndall National Institute (Ireland).
To strengthen Europe’s semiconductor industry, the NanoIC pilot line invests in talent development through:
· Internships for Bachelor’s & Master’s students
· Expert courses on advanced semiconductor technologies
· Design pathfinding PDKs as learning assets
· Interuniversity research programs across Europe
🔬 Nano IC-related internship topics include:
· Machine-learning for epitaxy analysis
· Thermal integrity in 2.5D packaging
· Advanced design technology co-optimization
· Parasitic extraction for large cells
· Area-selective deposition for nanoscale structures
· ...and more!
By bridging academia and industry, NanoIC is building a skilled, diverse, and innovative semiconductor workforce.
Do you want to contribute to the NanoIC project line? Projects within this framework are also posted as student opportunities (look for the Nano IC logo in the description of a topic).
All students need to provide us with a student placement agreement signed by a representative of the university/high school. Therefore, students must be registered at a school/university during their entire period at imec.
