Your new mission

Mirapulse is a startup incubated at StartLAB.brussels, the joint startup incubator of ULB and VUB, where it joined the Build 2 phase of the program, the second phase of StartLAB.brussels' incubation journey.

Mirapulse has been selected to host an intern through StartLAB.brussels.

Mirapulse is a FemTech startup whose mission is to relieve severe menstrual pain, especially for women facing debilitating pain often linked to conditions like endometriosis. We are developing the fi rst menstrual disc designed for painful periods.

Mission: assist in the development of the MVP and prototyping

Objectives: Accelerating the product development of our solution by:

  • Iterating on Prototypes: Taking our latest existing prototypes of the fi rst menstrual disc designed to relieve severe menstrual pain (endometriosis-related) and iterating on them to design the fi nal pre-production version.
  • Hardware Integration: Researching, selecting, and integrating the appropriate types of electrodes inside the cup to enable the pain-relief technology.
  • Delivering Expected Outcomes: Finalizing the 3D CAD models, validating technical and material feasibility (biocompatibility, integration of electronics), and preparing the technical documentation required for the fi nal prototyping phase.
  • TV-Ready Visual Mock-up: Building a high-quality, aesthetic physical mock-up of the disc. Mirapulse has been selected for a prime-time TV show, and we need a beautiful, realistic-looking prop (via 3D printing and manual fi nishing) to showcase our vision to the cameras and investors

Concrete Tasks & Expected Deliverables

  • An optimized and fi nalized 3D CAD model of the menstrual disc.
  • A benchmark/research document on biomedical electrodes and potential suppliers.
  • A high-quality, TV-presentable physical mock-up to be used for our pitch on national television.
  • A clear, documented technical dossier proposing theoretical integration methods for the electrodes, ready to be handed over to professional manufacturers.

We will share the raw reality of building a MedTech start-up from scratch, providing guidance on how to move from early hypotheses to manufacturer-ready concepts.

Check-in & Feedback Routine:

Monday Morning Alignment: Team meeting to align on the goals, plan, and tasks for the upcoming week.

Feedback loop during the week: Continuous feedback will be given during the internship
