Location: Brussels

Job type: Student (part time 15 hours a week)

Hybrid working: Possible

Verian works with clients around the world, providing evidence, insights and advisory services to inspire the next generation of public policy and programmes. We work at the intersection of data, technology, and human understanding. With permanent fully staffed offices in 17 countries, our 850 specialist consultants and researchers advise government departments, regulators, charities, and other public sector bodies to make the right decisions and improve people’s lives.

In Belgium, Verian is a leading social research agency, focused on helping European institutions, governments, and organisations make data-driven decisions. Based in the heart of Brussels, our team of 30 expert consultants is dedicated to delivering high-quality research and consultancy in areas such as public policy, service design, behavioural insights, and election research. Our clients include the European Institutions, national governments, and international organisations like the World Bank and the UN.

The Role

Our Evidence team is looking for a student with a curious and analytical mindset who is passionate about social research. You will support the coordination of a large-scale European research project and gain valuable hands-on experience contributing to impactful research that informs public policy and decision-making.

We are specifically seeking a student with excellent communication skills who speaks Dutch, French and English fluently.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the fieldwork of an international survey in Belgium.
  • Contact schools selected to participate in the research project and secure their involvement.
  • Follow up with schools, answer questions, and facilitate their participation.
  • Assist with document and reporting.
  • Assist the rest of the team with other tasks related to the coordination of the survey.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant field (e.g., communication, social science, social psychology, anthropology, sociology, statistics, or data science).
  • Proficient in Dutch and French (written and spoken).
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken).
  • Prior involvement in school boards, student associations, or similar extracurricular activities is a plus.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive, with strong initiative and ownership of tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an engaging personality.

What We Offer

  • A part-time student position for around three months from end of September to mid December 2026
  • Estimated 15 hours per week (may vary week to week).
  • Integration into the project team with briefings, guidance, and support.
  • A collaborative, inclusive, and international work environment where wellbeing and diversity are valued.
  • Working hours: flexible, ideally three hours/five days a week
  • Work from our office in Brussels (58 avenue des Arts 1000 Bruxelles) and possibility to work from home (up to 2 days a week)
  • Duration: around three months
  • Due to Belgian legislation, we can only hire students who are currently enrolled at a European university and who have worked less than 650 hours in 2026.
  • 15.05 euros an hour including meal vouchers.
